As part of the Village’s Urban Forest Tree Preservation and Protection Plan, the Village performs a Tree Planting Program twice a year (Spring & Fall). The purpose of this program is to replace trees removed throughout the year and also add to tree diversity through the Village.
Since the onset of the Emerald Ash Borer (EAB), the Village has removed about 1,000 ash trees around town.
The 2020 Tree Planting Program plans to plant 60 trees in the spring (April/May) and another 60 trees in the fall (September/October).
The Village’s Forestry division is in charge of proper placement and species selection for this program.
Any questions can be directed to the Public Works Department Forestry Division.
