Public Works crews are planting 150 trees in residential areas throughout the Village in April and early May. Wooden stakes have been approximately placed in selected locations for utility locates to take place. In the fall, another 150 trees will be planted.
Planting location and tree species is determined by the following factors:
• light pole location
• driveway location
• intersection distance
• fire hydrant location
• power-line clearance
• diversity of tree species
• overall space for the tree to grow in
• avoidance of planting trees in front of building entrances
The Village maintains the Village trees by watering, mulching, and pruning.
Tree-lined streets offer shade during the hot summers, raise property values, and clean our air. That's why so many trees have been planted in the Village of Bensenville!
