Bensenville, IL - The Bensenville Police Department obtained a Tier 1 level accreditation status with the Illinois Law Enforcement Accreditation Program (ILEAP) in January of 2015. The Bensenville Police Department is seeking advancement to the Tier 2 level accreditation. A team from ILEAP will be in Bensenville on February 28th and March 1st to determine if the Bensenville Police Department should receive the organization’s Tier 2 accreditation.

The police department will be judged on the basis of 180 separate ILEAP standards regarding administration, operations, personnel, and training. The department has been revising its policies and procedures during the past year in order to meet the standards set by ILEAP.
