DuPage County is beginning preparation of the 2022 Action Plan describing the use of these funds for the next program year. The County expects to receive approximately $3.9 million in funding from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) for the Community Development Block Grant Program, $300,000 for the Emergency Solutions Grant Program, and $1.8 million for the HOME Investment Partnerships Act Program for an approximate total of $6 million FY2022. The overall goal of these three programs is to develop viable urban communities by providing decent housing and a suitable living environment and expanding economic opportunities principally for low- and moderate- income persons.
Additionally, DuPage County is preparing a Substantial Amendment to its 2021 Action Plan to: 1) remove the CDBG funded public facility & improvement project known as the Midwest Shelter for Homeless Veterans 433 S Carlton Rehab Phase 2 and reprogram $173,000 in CDBG funding 2) add $827,000 in CDBG prior year resources; and 3) increase CDBG funding for DuPage County Care Center rehabilitation needs in the amount of $1,000,000.
A Draft 2022 Action Plan describing the use of these funds in the next program year and a draft of the 2021 Action Plan Substantial Amendment containing the above noted updates will be available for review on January 6, 2022. Additional free copies are available to interested organizations or individuals and may be obtained by contacting the DuPage County Community Development Office.
