The Illinois Tollway is hosting an informational meeting about the Elgin O'Hare Western Access Project. The Illinois Tollway's $3.4 billion project is moving forward in 2015 with roadway construction that includes completion of roadway improvements on the western end of the new Illinois Route 390, formerly known as the Elgin O'Hare Expressway, between Lake Street and Rohlwing Road (Illinois Route 53). Construction on Illinois Route 390 also includes completion of the new Rohlwing Road Bridge and continuing construction of the eastern segment of Illinois Route 390 from Rohlwing Road to Illinois Route 83. In addition, in 2015, work will continue on the I-290 Interchange at Illinois Route 390 and the Elmhurst Road at I-90 Interchange.
Community members and local businesses are encouraged to attend the meeting for an opportunity to learn more about upcoming construction, future tolling plans, the land acquisition process and ongoing design. The meeting will be in an open house format with Tollway staff on hand to explain the project and answer any questions.
