Project Description
In an effort to impose a quick intervention against the spread of COVID-19, the Village of
Bensenville is soliciting proposal to contract with an outside person or agency to serve as
an outreach coordinator whose primary focus will be to work directly with the
Bensenville, IL Latino community to educate them about the risks of COVID-19 as well as
provide strategies and supplies that are proven to reduce community spread.
Background and Community Needs
The Village of Bensenville disproportionately has one of the highest rates of COVID-19
positive cases compared to other municipalities in DuPage County. Data collected by the
DuPage County Health Department has found that Hispanics or Latinos are 3.8 times
more likely to be diagnosed with COVID-19 than non-Hispanic or Latino residents.
Correspondingly, Bensenville has one of the largest Latino/Hispanic populations in
DuPage County, comprising 49.7% of the Village’s overall population.
In order to protect residents by reducing the spread of COVID-19, the Village is soliciting
proposals from qualified entities to serve as an Outreach Coordinator for COVID-19
Intervention in Bensenville’s Latino Community.

November 5-12, 2020: Proposals Review, Preliminary Candidate Selection
November 12, 2020: Applicants Notified
November 17, 2020: Contract Award

| The ideal candidate or team for the position should be an excellent communicator in both English and Spanish, with a background in communications, marketing, community organizing, community outreach, and/or public health. Furthermore, they should have local knowledge of the Bensenville community.
