NOTICE TO BIDDERS
THE VILLAGE OF BENSENVILLE, DuPAGE COUNTY, ILLINOIS, will receive sealed bids for the 2018 WATER MAIN REPLACEMENT PROJECT until Eleven A.M. (11:00 A.M.) (prevailing time), March 8, 2018 at the office of the Municipal Clerk in the Village Hall, 12 South Center Street, in the Village of Bensenville, Illinois, at which time and place all bids will be publicly opened and read aloud.
A mandatory pre-bid meeting will be held at Nine A.M. (9:00 A.M.) on March 1, 2018 at the Village of Bensenville’s Public Works Facility located at 717 E. Jefferson Street, Bensenville, Illinois 60106.
The contract documents, including plans and specifications, are on file at the office of the Engineer, James J. Benes and Associates, Inc., 950 Warrenville Road, Suite 101, Lisle, Illinois 60532, (630) 719-7570.
Copies of the documents may be obtained from James J. Benes & Associates, Inc. by depositing a $50.00 non-refundable deposit, payable to James J. Benes and Associates, Inc., for each set along with a copy of the Contractor's "Certificate of Eligibility" issued by the Illinois Department of Transportation.
A bid bond, certified check, bank draft or irrevocable letter of credit on a solvent bank, payable to the Village of Bensenville, or cash in an amount of not less than ten percent (10%) of the amount of the bid shall be submitted with each bid.
The successful bidder will be required to furnish a satisfactory performance bond in the amount equal to one hundred percent (100%) of the Contract sum as a security for the faithful performance of the Contract and also a Payment Bond in the amount equal to one hundred percent (100%) of the Contract Sum as a security for the payment of all persons performing labor on the Project under the Contract and furnishing materials in connection of the Contract. The successful bidder shall also furnish a Certificate of Insurance. No bid shall be withdrawn after opening of bids without the consent of said Municipality for a period of sixty (60) days after the scheduled time of opening bids.
The Village of Bensenville reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive any informalities in bidding and to accept the bid deemed most advantageous to it, all in accordance with the standard specifications.

It shall be the responsibility of the bidder to deliver its bid to the designated person at the appointed place, prior to the announced time for the opening of the bids. Late delivery of a bid for any reason, including faulty or late delivery by United States Mail or other carrier will disqualify the bid.
NO FAXED PROPOSALS WILL BE ACCEPTED.The Village reserves the right to accept or reject any or all proposals and award the contract to the proposal which is the best in the opinion of the Village.The award of a contract by the Village of Bensenville shall in no way be considered a binding contract and no such binding contract shall result until such time as a written contract has been executed by the proper authority of the Village of Bensenville and the other party to whom the contract has been awarded.
